SO our group at uni has been asked to mantain an educational based blog, keeping it up to date with the things we have been learning over the next few weeks. Will it continue beyond that? Who knows, I kind of hope it will but imagine it might threaten to diverge quite a bit from being purely educational. Perhaps making my title a bit redundent. Oh well. Can you change these titles at a later date? Maybe a more experainced blogger can let me know.
Anyway, most interesting thing that happened at uni this week, was the lecture involving philosophy lessons for primary school kids. Personally, I thought this was great - philosophy being (in my view) the best subject to help teach people how to think critically. Hopefuly these sort of lessons happen in more and more primary schools. I will certainly try to incorperate something of this in my secondary lesons.
I'll post something soon on game based learning - I do agree with DM that this is a promising area with huuuge potential. I even witnesed limited evidence of this on my placement... but more on that in a future post.
